Our Mission
"Benedict's Place" has been established to honour two beautiful souls, Benedict and Ivan, and to help other young men who may be silently struggling with their place in this world;challenges they may feel that only they can bear.
Both Ben & Ivan had so much to offer the world but struggled with challenges that only they recognised fully.
Both would want us to do anything we can to help others to seek companionship, purpose and hope. Both would want to see others as being "blessed" (the meaning of Benedict in Latin), fortunate, lucky, comfortable with this world.
You are not alone and there is no shame in not quite finding your direction.
There is plenty of time for every individual to find their way and companions and friends for life.

Put simply, our mission is to help any other young person whose struggles can seem overwhelming.
We want to provide hope, purpose and companionship, a brighter future which may not be immediately apparent.

Benedict's Place is located in Fabrica, Lynchford Road, North Camp. Fabrica is a social enterprise business based on upcycling and remediating furniture
​
You will have an opportunity to either work on some restorations or a garden landscaping project or, if preferred, just have a tea or a coffee and a chat in a safe, non-judgemental place.

Our first landscape project is to work together to create a beautiful outdoor space.
This large garden (pictured left and above) is largely overgrown and full of junk; together we will design and build a space for growing plants and vegetables.
It will also allow for furniture projects to be undertaken all year round in a safe and conducive manner as well as a calm and relaxing area for shared time and a coffee with your new friends.

Above everything, it will be a space to show your skills, learn new ones and help you share in a project to be proud of!

All materials and equipment will be provided; all we need is your abilities, effort and ideas!

This project will suit all abilities from the complete novice upwards.
It is an opportunity to shape your world in a real and meaningful way and, maybe for some, identify some skills that will be beneficial way beyond this project.

Everybody wants to feel they have achieved something, that their efforts are valued.
The real world is made up many millions of people achieving little things every day.

The world can seem quite alienating at some times for reasons beyond your control.
Hope starts with communication and friendship and Benedict's Place can be a place where hope can be rekindled.
